Bite of Oregon.
Held annually in Portland, Oregon, just an hour from our resort, we look forward to this food festival every year. Events like this don’t grow on trees. The Pacific Northwest puts out some of the best dishes the U.S. has to offer. (…In our humble opinion.) With such a diverse but representative selection of Oregon-grown vendors — not just food, but beer and wine and all kinds of other tsotchkes — you can’t miss it.
Stevenson is just a hop away from Carson. This is bound to be a good, cheap time (for adults). Washington’s been concocting some excellent craft beers and ciders in recent years — get out there and sample as many as you can! So you know what to pick up next time you’re at the store, if nothing else. Find more information on Walking Man Beer’s site here.
Fall Festival of The Arts.
Located in Troutdale, Oregon, this is more like a hop and a skip away — about 40 minutes by car — but when did that ever stop you? This is a juried art competition, but also another inexpensive opportunity for live music and wine tasting. There is more information on the festival’s website. P.S.: It’s not too late to sign up to participate as an artist!
